The ACLU of Missouri was contacted by several parents and students after five students were suspended for wearing t-shirts protesting the forced resignation of the high school principal. The students were told that they faced expulsion if they wore the shirts again. After the ACLU communicated with the superintendent and the district’s attorney, the students were allowed to wear the t-shirts without incident. The ACLU is still awaiting confirmation from the school that the original suspensions will be expunged from the student’s records.
