Pick Your Prosecuting Attorney - Canvass

What: Please meet in front of the Panera 15 minutes prior to the start of the canvass to get your walk sheets.

Right now, St. Louis County has the opportunity to take a major step toward reforming our criminal justice system. This August 7th, we can elect a new Prosecuting Attorney. The Prosecuting Attorney is the position with the most power to hold police accountable, protect people from over-policing, and end the cycle of mass incarceration that’s damaging the lives and livelihoods of our communities. There are just five weeks left until the election, which means now is a critical time to talk to voters about what their vote means for the future of criminal justice in our county.Starting real conversations with voters is proven to sway hearts and minds – and get firm commitment to change. This is about our home and our neighbors. That’s why we’re organizing a big series of door-knocking canvasses to talk to thousands of voters in this critical period before the August 7th election.

Transgender Education and Advocacy Program

Our Transgender Education and Advocacy Program is fostering a platform to bring the voices of our trans and gender non-conforming neighbors to a wider audience and encourage trans and gender non-conforming folks to share their life stories through the ACLU Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Experiences Survey.

These stories will help make sure everyone in our state – legislator and voter alike – has the opportunity to get to know the experiences, joys, and struggles many in the trans community share. It is harder to discriminate against someone you know. Missouri should actively work toward making laws that honor the Constitution, uphold civil liberties, and protect everyone fully. Respect means making our state truly equal for everyone.
