We are encouraged that Attorney General Josh Hawley is committed to investigating the claims of unconstitutional and inhumane treatment of inmates at the Mississippi County Jail.
In April 2016, we filed a lawsuit against Mississippi County and Corey Hutcheson after our client, Tara Rhodes, was subject to vicious and unconstitutional treatment at the hands of the Mississippi County jailers under Hutcheson’s direction. At 19 weeks pregnant, they ignored Tara’s pleas for help for five days while she was in labor, then drove her 240 miles to a state facility, which immediate sent her to a hospital. When she finally arrived, she learned her baby could not be saved.
The recent allegations against Corey Hutcheson show a pattern of cruelty, depravity and the innocent deaths of those he is supposed to protect.
