There is much progress to be made towards Trans (& LGBT/Queer rights) in Missouri. The ACLU of Missouri is committed to building up TGNC leaders from around the state to help make Missouri a safer and more equitable place to be. What works in Kansas City may not be what Springfield or Cape Girardeau needs. St. Louis is in a different place politically than Columbia and St. Joe and all the rural spaces in between.

On top of this, due to overwhelming marginalization and a lack of access to resources and safety, many members of Missouri’s Trans, Intersex, Non-Binary and Gender Non-Conforming Community are passed over when it comes to accessing or being offered leadership development that helps ensure this population’s civil liberties are protected.

To fill this void, the ACLU of Missouri is offering a space for the TGNC leaders continued development through the Application-Only Trans Leadership Table (TLT20). This space is an opportunity to network, to increase capacity for local work and to provide local leaders an avenue for leadership development.

Applicants must identify as TGNC, have some experience coordinating local support groups or events, and be interested in learning more about making change in the state of Missouri. Apply to be a part of ACLU’s Trans Leadership Table #TLT20 today.

To be considered for the TLT20, read about the full commitment here and complete the app by September 4, 2019.

Please Note: This is a free, all-expenses covered (trainings, housing, meals, and travel) training opportunity that - in return - asks for a full ten month, volunteer commitment.
