Steven previously served as the vice president of the ACLU of Kansas and Western Missouri’s board of trustees. He is a trial attorney who has worked as a sole practitioner for more than 40 years. Steven was selected as the Kansas City recipient of the 2012 Missouri Bar Association Pro Bono Publico Award, an honor bestowed upon attorneys who demonstrate an exemplary commitment to providing legal services to the underserved community. He served on the Camps for Kids board of directors for six years, and was president from 2006 to 2008. He is a 1972 graduate of the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the American International College in 1967. Steven and his wife Nan have enjoyed 40 years of marriage. The proud parents of their son Justin and daughter-in-law Yuliya have a new grandson Seth.
