It's been nearly 50 years since the 1969 Stonewall riots in Manhattan that became the tipping point for the Gay Liberation Movement in the United States and the defining moment for why we celebrate Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month in June.
Missouri became the center stage when we won a historic case in 2014. Barrier v. Vasterling obligated Missouri to recognize the lawful marriages of same-sex couples who were legally wed outside the state — it helped set the stage for the U.S. Supreme Court to grant marriage equality for all in 2015 in Obergefell v. Hodges.
Join us as ACLU of Missouri celebrates Pride events around the state this month.
