The Kansas City Equity and Justice Coalition represents individuals and organizations who are deeply committed to policies aimed at reducing the number of people in our city jails, eliminating biased and unfair practices involving cash bail as well as improving the relationship between the community and the Kansas City Police Department. Our coalition is comprised of the following members: American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri, Heartland of America Green Party, Incarcerated Workers Organizing Committee, Our Revolution, Reale Justice Network, and Showing Up for Racial Justice-Kansas City.

Jefferson City, Mo. -- The statewide #StopTheBans Coalition is dismayed by the Missouri Senate’s decision to ban abortion at eight weeks. This measure will drastically limit the ability of Missourians to access safe, legal abortion care.

The ACLU of Missouri would like to inform our Members that our Board of Directors will consider changes to the ACLU-MO bylaws on June 15th.

Jefferson City – Yesterday, the Missouri Legislature approved HB 192, a proposal that would reform Missouri sentencing law and allow eligible individuals to have earlier parole hearings.  HB 192 requires the parole board to evaluate those currently serving mandatory minimums and decide if they should be released.
