Today’s opinion from the Missouri Supreme Court was a complete rejection of the anti-abortion politicians' arguments and attempts to subvert our constitutional right to vote to protect reproductive freedom, including access to abortion, birth control, and miscarriage care.

The decision upholds Missourians’ constitutional right to the initiative process by reversing the trial court’s decision, nullifies the Secretary of State’s decertification, and ensures that Missourians will vote on reproductive freedom.

“Hundreds of thousands of Missourians have exercised their power as citizens in its purest form and want their fellow citizens to vote on whether to change Missouri's Constitution with regard to abortion rights.”

“These politicians and special interest groups are grasping at straws to block voters from deciding the initiative's fate, and the court should reject this desperate and undemocratic attack.”

Today the Judge issued an order rebuking the Secretary of State for reusing “unfair, insufficient, inaccurate, and misleading”  language to describe the probable effects of a passed Amendment 3.

Following certification on August 13, the Secretary of State published the Amendment on the office’s official website which included a description that is argumentative to the adoption of the Amendment, misleading to the Amendment’s probable effects, and prejudicial to the Amendment. We sued.
