A brave, bipartisan coalition of Missourians stood up for the American ideals of liberty and equality in our state by speaking against Senate Bill 43 in Monday’s house debate. The ACLU of Missouri continues to work with this bipartisan group of officials and organizations such as the Missouri NAACP State Conference, that have been tirelessly fighting for our civil rights.

SB 43 will usher in a new era of 'acceptable' racism, sexism and xenophobia in Missouri. This bill makes workplaces potentially more hostile for Missouri’s women, people of color and religious minorities. It’s not just bad for Missourians, it’s bad for business.

"We will continue to work with elected officials of both parties, as well as businesses and organizations across the state to protect the rights of all Missourians," said Sara Baker, Legislative and Policy Director of the ACLU of Missouri. "We urge Gov. Greitens to put the people of Missouri first and veto Senate Bill 43."
