This case was filed in the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri. This case builds upon the ACLU’s past litigation and advocacy aimed at eradicating housing barriers for low-income women of color, and particularly Black women, due to prior eviction records.

We filed suit this morning against the City of Florissant challenging three unconstitutional ordinances that give officers unfettered power and are arbitrarily applied to violate protesters’ First and Fourteenth Amendment rights while protesting for police accountability.

The ACLU of Missouri filed suit against the Maries County Sheriff's office for intentionally failing to provide documents requested under Missouri's Sunshine Law after payment for the records was given.

The ACLU MO filed suit against two St. Louis city police officers on behalf of Sharon Morrow after they retaliated against her for recording them making arrests. The officers pulled her from her vehicle, slammed her into the asphalt, and arrested her while she was downtown to distribute food.

The ACLU and ACLU of Missouri filed an amicus brief with the Circuit Court of Jackson County urging the court to immediately halt all stages of eviction proceedings and act swiftly to address the egregious violations of tenants’ constitutional rights.

The Washington University in St. Louis School of Law's First Amendment Clinic and the ACLU of Missouri has filed suit against U.S. Senator for Missouri Roy Blunt on behalf of a constituent for violating their First Amendment rights to free speech.
