The ACLU of Missouri’s Court Watch program and volunteers keep our courts accountable, and make our criminal justice system more transparent, more rigorous, and more equitable. Court Watchers observe and document arraignment sessions and bond hearings in shifts of 1 to 2 hours on Monday through Thursday between 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Court Watchers are in the St. Louis County Circuit Court, focusing on the following information:

CHARGES

BOND RECOMMENDATIONS

WHO IS BEING ARRAIGNED AND PROSECUTED

ARE DEFENDANTS BEING TREATED WITH DIGNITY & RESPECT

You can choose when you court watch, and do not need previous experience to court watch, only a desire to hold prosecutors accountable for fairness and equity, and completed 1.5 hour training with ACLU MO.
